Finding the best vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To book the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Nags Head attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pompano: Oceanfront Home w\/ Private Heated Pool, Hot Tub & Cabana Service has 8 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Nags Head destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
