How to book the best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in Nags Head. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocracoke Cottage: Semi-Oceanfront, Hot Tub, Close walk to the Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
