How to get the best Nags Head rental home experience:

When to reserve a Nags Head rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking the best Nags Head vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Nanalee II:Oceanfront townhome, ocean views from King en suite, community pool & tennis. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
