Tips to get the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Nags Head. Reserve your Nags Head rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Nags Head area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental home in Nags Head:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. K1471 Mullen Sandpiper. Semi-Oceanfront, 4 BD, Pool, 150 Yards to the Beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
