Tips and Tricks to get the very best Nags Head vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Nags Head rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
