How to book the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. Reserve your Nags Head rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Nags Head vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. K1130 Kirtland's Keep. Private Pool, Putting Green, Elevator! Sunday Turn. has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
