How to find the best rental experience:
When to visit Nags Head & When to reserve a Nags Head rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Nags Head. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose yourrental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Just Wright: Heated private pool and hot tub and an elevator! Very close to beac has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
