Booking the best Nags Head vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Nags Head area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in Nags Head:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Nags Head has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Nags Head attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
