About this Property

  • Cottage

Sea Spray Cottages were constructed in 1950. There are 5 cottages in total, each bungalow is similar to the others, but unique in its own way.

My wife and I have been operating the SEA SPRAY COTTAGES OBX for vacations units since 2009. We run a mom & pop operation, an experience from a day gone-by but thoroughly adored by our guests.

Sea Spray Cottage #3 rents weekly only in the summer, Sunday to Sunday. We will consider partial weeks, if the stay starts or ends on a Sunday. You will have to inquire about that option. The pricing of this unit will mirror Cottage #5 pricing for part-stays in the summer.

Sea Spray Cottage #3 is ideal for those looking for a cozy space to savor time at the beach. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 twins. It has a comfortable living room with wide-screen TV, galley kitchen, and sweet breakfast room. You will not believe how comfortable and impressive it is until you spend some time there. If you are looking for a private get away or to vacation with just your immediate family or just you or just your significant other, this is the place.

Dogs are welcome, we try to keep it to 2 (the cottages are primarily for folks). $125 for the first two and $100 each after that.

The location can't be beat. The beach is just across the street and at about mile post 11.7 (just south of Nags Head Pier and north of Snowbird's Soft Serve Ice Cream), all of Nags Head's offerings are close by.

The bungalow has a front porch for calming and appreciating your favorite drink as you watch the world go by as folks walk, run and bicycle along the multi-use path that is across the street. The bungalow also has a private back porch, patio in the rose garden, and fenced in yard. Bed linens and towels are NOT included, but Billy or assistant manager runs a side gig and can hook you up, if you prefer not to bring your own.

Check in is at 4 and check out is at 10:00.

If your desired dates of travel are not available in this bungalow, we have others. There are 5 cottages in total at Sea Spray Cottages OBX, all similar in vintage, but unique from one another. If you are a regular on the Outer Banks, they are the gray cottages with the pink doors on the beach road in Nags Head.

Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Nags Head rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose the right Nags Head rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Cozy Cute Historic - Seaspray Cottage #3 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
