How to find the best rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer is high season in Nags Head. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Seas The Day: Private Hot Tub, Amazing Sunsets, Village Beach Club amenities! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Nags Head attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
