Strategies to get the best Nags Head vacation rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Pool Access
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
