Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Nags Head vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Nags Head. To get the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Nags Head attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 6080 Kokomo * 4 Min Walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
