Tricks and tips to get the perfect Nags Head rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Nags Head area. Reserve your Nags Head rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself.
