About this Property

  • Sleeps 4
  • 2 Bedrooms
  • 1 Bathrooms
  • Cottage
  • Approximately 700 square feet

Sea Spray Cottages were constructed in 1950. There are 5 bungalow in total, each bungalow is similar to the others, but unique in its own way.

My wife and I have been operating the SEA SPRAY COTTAGES OBX for vacations units since 2009. We run a mom and pop operation, an experience from a day gone-bye but thoroughly appreciated by our guests.

Sea Spray Cottage #5 is ideal for those looking for a cozy space to savor time at the beach. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 twins. It has a comfortable living room with wide-screen TV, living room/dining area and wide galley kitchen. You will not believe how comfortable and striking it is until you spend some time there. If you are looking for a private hideaway or to vacation with just your immediate family or just you and just your significant other, this is the place for you.

Dogs are welcome, we try to keep it to 2 (it's primarily a bungalow for folks- not a kennel). $125 for the first two and $100 each after that but you must let us know if beyond 2, PLEASE.

The location can't be beat, the beach is just across the street and at about mile post 11.7 (just south of Nags Head Pier and north of Snow Bird's Soft Serve Ice Cream) where all that Nags Head has to offer is close by.

The bungalow has an impressive front porch with expansive vistas. The porch is great for calming and appreciating your favorite drink as you watch the world go by as folks walk, run and bicycle along the multi-use path that is across the street. The bungalow also has an impressive back porch with a bistro table for morning coffee or an intimate dinner.

Bed linens and towels NOT supplied, but our assistant manager, Billy has a side gig where he can suite you up for a fee. Just ask for his number. Check in is at 4 and check out is at 10:00.

If your desired dates of travel are not available in this bungalow, we have 4 others. There are 5 cottages in total at Sea Spray Cottages OBX, all similar in vintage, but unique from one another. If you are a regular on the Outer Banks, they are the gray cottages with the pink doors on the beach road in Nags Head.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Nags Head area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Nags Head area. Reserve your Nags Head rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Nags Head visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Super Cute, Cozy, Historic Sea Spray Cottage #5 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
