How to book the best Nags Head vacation property experience:
When to book a Nags Head rental home & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Nags Head. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Nags Head area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Nags Head area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Nags Head
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
