Tricks and tips to get the best Nags Head vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Mins to Beach~Hot Tub~Outdoor Projector~BBQ Grill has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
