Please extend our sincere thanks to the owners of the home. The home was beautiful, contained top of the line cooking supplies and the furnishings was well chosen. It was very comfortable. Strategies to get the perfect Nags Head vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Nags Head area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Nags Head area. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book your prefect Nags Head rental home:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. K1215 Serenity in Nags Head. Oceanfront, Pool, Free Pool Heat-Select Weeks, has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
