Nags Head rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Nags Head rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Charming coastal home near beach with 360-degree deck, WiFi, W\/D, & AC - dogs OK has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's a specific Nags Head destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
