  • Cottage
  • Approximately 1160 square feet

Located at Mile Marker 18 in South Nags Head (pretty cozy compared to Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Duck and other areas in the Outer Banks) we are close to all the major attractions (Fish Heads Bar and Grille -1/3 mile away simple walk or bicycle ride, Pea Island, Jockeys Ridge, Manteo, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, National Beach w Beach Driving, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Nags Head Woods, Jennette's Pier are all within 6 miles of the home) and hidden away on our peaceful street . So you can savor the day exploring the OBX and come home to relax in a calming environment. We are only 222 yards away from the ocean so you can hear the waves crash on the deck at nighttime. The Backyard connects to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Parkland for a great view and exceptional sunsets! Added Privacy. We leave a starter welcome bag with coffee, sponge, 2 huggers, couple trash bags and a couple of rolls of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels are left in kitchen and bathroom. Motion activated security camera is under deck and provides a security view of the front entrance and parking pad.
A three to four min. walk (6 homes back) takes you to your private deeded access(directions in picture frame near TV upstairs) that guarantees you a place in the sand and no folks are sitting on top of you. Our home is a good choice because you can walk to the beach with only one road to cross. Trying to find parking at a public access can be a pain. Walk 3 to 4 mins. to one of the most handsome beaches in America. The sunset off the back deck can be gorgeous- nothing but nature and the sun setting over the sound or the far off distance woods (miles). It is really charming and the focal point of our home in the evening. Our deck off the back is 23 steps high and is key in providing the view off the deck, but also from the kitchen window and dinning area.
Upstairs, the preserve view out the back sliding door is super cool and peaceful if you like nature. The National Parkland and Sound out back. Watch the Sun Rise and Set from the same spot- half bath upstairs. 3 Bedrooms below with a full bathroom below if someone wants to go downstairs for a nap. Cool open shower in the back. Very rather on Street and home backs up to the National Parkland offering great sunsets and wildlife viewing. We provide 4 Bikes and they are Jamis Cruisers (to use at your own risk) for riding the paved walk/bicycle ways and are great to ride to beach (park on left in cleared area 20ft from our access). We also provide a beach cart, 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 4 to 6 body boards (do not pull your kids by the body board leash, it will weaken it and cause it to break, this is needed for safety purposes for kids, if you break one replace it- or do not pull your kids), few kid beach toys for your use. We only ask you treat them well for the next guest by returning clean and rinsed off(or you can be charged $50 to wash off chairs, bicycles, body boards, cart, please rinse them off before putting up at hose station up front for next guest, Please!). All the items above are included at no charge and cannot be guaranteed especially the bicycles (flat tires, chains, etc.) but we leave a couple additional tire tubes and an air pump for the bicycles. We service these bicycles at the beginning of the season( please use the bicycles at your own risk- we also do not provide helmets).
Linens: We do supply 1 king, 1 queen, and sets of twin sheets, 6 bath towels, 6 wash clothes, 3 hand towels. We do not make the beds, but have them on dresser or bed if you would like to use.
Outdoor Grille - we have a charcoal grille but do not supply charcoal
272 Yards from Our Private Community Beach Access. Great Vistas from Back Deck- SUNSETS and Wildlife. Private beach access, guarantees you a spot in the sand that you can walk!!! (wagon, toys, body boards, cooler, couple of beach chairs) 1/4 mile away from FISHHEADS Bar and Grille and Outer Bank's Pier . Very peaceful, calming setting. Modest vistas of Bodie Island Lighthouse, Sound, Bridge. Jeanette's Pier 1 mile away, Bodie Island Lighthouse 5.5 miles away, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center Charter Boats and Public Boat Ramp 7 miles away (close to inlet), 7 miles away Manteo (Elizabeth Gardens, North Carolina Aquarium, Historic Downtown) 10 miles to Wright Brothers Memorial, 1.5 miles to local Grocery Calhouns, 3 miles to Food Lion, West Marine, 7 miles to TWs Bait and Tackle, 1.5 miles to Whalebone Tackle, Sam and Omie's Restaurant 1 mile away, Tale of a Whale 2 miles away, Basnight's Lone Cedar Parlor 2 miles away, Corolla Lighthouse 36 miles away, Hatteras Lighthouse 47 miles away, Ocracoke Ferry 57 miles away, Tortugas Lie 6 miles away. If you want to go exploring - head south down Hwy 12 - just across the Oregon Inlet Bridge there is a side road on the left, turn here, park and walk out on to beaches that are protected- arrive in the morning to go shelling- you probably will not see a track in the sand!! All the way to the Ocracoke Ferry is a excellent pretty ride that has many accesses to the ocean. The stars off the back deck at nighttime are great, you are close to the heavens in South Nags Head!
Very private rather area, you may have people on the left and right but not behind you (park) or in front (street) not like a condo where people can be loud and you cannot get away.
Just remember to take your time and relax in the OUTER BANKS or as many say the Big Sandbar.
If you like to fish- please don t hesitate to e-mail me. I know many places and will help out.
The fast access to walking/bicycle riding paths and the Ocean are great to start your day, without waking anyone or getting in a car. Put on your shoes and walk or ride one the cruisers we supply(ride at own risk and bring your helmets). An early morning ride or walk in the cool air watching the sun rise is pretty cool.
Pipers Watch is in a great location and provides a place to relax after exploring the Outer Banks!

Our top Nags Head vacation rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your Nags Head rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Nags Head vacation home:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. S Nags Head, Great Sunsets, Secluded, Bikes, Boogie Boards, Privacy! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Brew Thru

No trip to the Outer Banks is complete without cruising through Brew Thru, the Outer Banks’ original drive thru convenience store. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing cold beverage of Coke, Pepsi and other soft drinks on the go, stocking up your cooler with refreshments to enjoy at the beach or piling up on beer and wine for a party, Brew Thru is a fun and unique experience all vacationers need to see for themselves.

Drive-Through Beer & Gear

Brew Thru is Your One-Stop Shop at the Beach

The year was 1977, and Dana and Becky Lawrentz were chatting with friends over brews in their hometown of Akron, Ohio. They got to talking about a gas station convenience store in the area that had built a makeshift drive-through. Everyone agreed it would be pretty great if you could actually drive through a convenience store and pick up everything you needed without getting out of the car. But what would you call a place like that?

Well, you’d call it a Brew Thru.

It was an idea they couldn’t shake, so the Lawrentzes moved to the Outer Banks and built the first Brew Thru with the help of a partner. The idea was that people could come buy everything they would need for their trip to the beach—beer, wine, soft drinks, snacks, ice—without getting out of the car. That same year, a t-shirt salesman visiting the store and talked them into adding t-shirts to their product line—and 44 years later there are now more than five million Brew Thru t-shirts out in the wild.

The Lawrentzes’ daughter Brandy and her husband Philip Foreman purchased the business from them in 2002, and they now operate five locations across the Outer Banks.“We love being the one-stop shop for folks on the way to their beach house,” Foreman says. “Our car tenders are the friendliest people at the beach. We’re here to greet you, get you everything you need for your trip, load it up in the trunk for you, and have you leaving with a smile on your face.”

The store is quite expansive, featuring more than 100 brands of beer, dozens of wines and even a vast selection of cigars—not to mention all the snacks, t-shirts and other gear. To make ordering a little easier, customers in line get a menu—fondly known as the Summer-y—that outlines everything available at the store. These Summer-ies are also available in many of the beach rentals, which allows vacationers to decide what they want before driving through.

For customers who would like to get out and stretch their legs, there’s the Brew Thru Shop in Kill Devil Hills, where you can find their world famous t-shirts and other gifts. New t-shirt designs are created each year, making a yearly Brew Thru t-shirt a favorite of locals and annual visitors to the Outer Banks.

The Foremans both grew up in the Outer Banks, and they love that Brandy’s parents’ vision for a friendly and convenient place for people to grab their brews and other beach stay essentials is continuing to flourish.

“Our family has been welcoming people to the Outer Banks since 1977,” Foreman says. “We love this beautiful place, and we want everybody to get to enjoy it.”
