Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Nags Head rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Nags Head. Book your Nags Head rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Nags Head rental home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 7149 Geri's Place #7 * Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Nags Head rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
