  • Private vacation home

You'll fit right into The Ideal Space (formerly Gresham), a calming oceanside getaway located in the heart of Nags Head that will allow you to leave the anxiety of everyday life behind.

When it's time to go to sleep, you'll find sleeping for 8 (king, twin bunk beds, 2 twins and a sleeper couch). The upstairs loft also has a remote work area for anyone who is combining work with play.

Clear the home and head outside to one of two decks, complete with a picnic table and chairs. You'll hear the ocean waves from either deck - great spots for morning coffee or evening drinks. Get swept away in the hot tub that awaits you in the evenings or set up the cornhole boards for a game. Underneath the home is a "pirate's getaway" next to the hot tub that provides another outdoor space to relax after a day at the beach or sound. Dowdy Park, with a playground, basketball/pickleball courts and bocce, is just a few mins. walk and there is some equipment available for your use.

If it's beaches' sand you want then you have them! Give your worries to the sea after a short (5 min.) walk to the Bladen street beach access. Attractions such as the Nags Head Pier, Dowdy Park, and mini golf as well as eateries (Lucky 12, Tortugas Lie, Red Drum, Surfin' Spoon, and the Spot) are also within walking distance. Tips and Tricks to get the best Nags Head rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Nags Head. Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Nags Head area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Nags Head area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
