Booking the best Nags Head rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Nags Head area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Nags Head visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. N3325-Oceanside, Nags Head, Saturday Check In, Private Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
