Nags Head rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Nags Head area. To get the best rental home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Nags Head area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. K1148 NautiBuoy; LUXURY Oceanfront, Pool, Hot Tub, Pets OK, Elevator! has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Nags Head beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Have a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
