Rental home booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your Nags Head vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Nags Head vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Nags Head area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Nags Head area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book the perfectrental:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 424 - Nags Head Cove Rental w\/ Community Pool Access and Screened-In Deck has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Nags Head destination you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
